Configuring a 48-Port 8-Gbps Fibre Channel Switching Module Example

These steps describe how to configure the 48-port 8-Gbps module interfaces module:
Select the interfaces fc 4/1 through fc 4/2.
Step 1
switch# config t
switch(config)# interface fc 4/1 - 2
Configure the port speed, rate mode, and port mode on the interfaces.
Step 2
switch(config-if)# switchport speed 8000
switch(config-if)# switchport rate-mode shared
switch(config-if)# switchport mode f
Enable the interfaces and return to configuration mode.
Step 3
switch(config-if)# no shutdown
switch(config-if)# exit
switch#
Select the interfaces fc 4/3 through fc 4/4.
Step 4
switch# config t
switch(config)# interface fc 4/3 - 4
Step 5 Configure the port speed, rate mode, and port mode on the interfaces.
switch(config-if)# switchport speed auto max 4000
switch(config-if)# switchport rate-mode dedicated
switch(config-if)# switchport mode f
Enable the interfaces and return to configuration mode.
Step 6
switch(config-if)# no shutdown
switch(config-if)# exit
switch#
Select the interfaces fc 4/5 through fc 4/6.
Step 7
switch# config t
switch(config)# interface fc 4/5 - 6
