If your air cleaner is equipped with the optional
W 8600F Air Cleaner Monitor, the SERVICE and
FAULT indicator on the W 8600F will remind you
that a cell and prefilter washing is due and tell
you when the system isn't operating properly.
Whether or not your air cleaner has an Air
Cleaner Monitor, perform these checks before
you call your heating and air conditioning dealer
for service.
T H E N .
1. M a k e sure th e fu rn a c e or air conditioner
b lo w er is running.
2 . M a k e sure th e a c cess door is firm ly closed
and latched. If door is not closed properly, an
interlock keeps th e air c le a n e r off.
3 . Press th e test button. A snap pin g sound
indicates th e air c le a n e r is operating properly. If
th e re is no snapping sound, m a k e sure the
app ro priate fuse or circuit b re a k e r is O K .
1. If th e electronic cells are w et fro m w ashing,
turn the air c le a n e r off for 2 -3 hours.
2 . C h e c k the cells for broken ionizer w ires or
bent plates. R e p a ir if n ecessary.
3 . W a s h cells and prefilters if dirty.

is running.
2 . M a k e sure th e a c cess door is firm ly closed.
3 . M a k e sure th e O N -O F F switch is in the O N
position.
4. If th e electronic cells a re w et, c h e c k again in
2 to 3 hours.
