Secton 1 - Product Overvew
The D-Lnk DNS-313 1-Bay Network Storage Enclosure enables you to share your documents, photos, musc and vdeos across
the network and on the Internet (va FTP server) so that famly members, frends or employees can access them at anytme.
Ths enclosure, whch can hold one 3.5" SATA hard drve of any capacty, creates a central network pont for backng up valuable
files.
The DNS-313 shares files over the Internet va the bult-n FTP server. Users and groups can be created and assgned to folders
wth ether read or read/wrte permssons. In addton, the DNS-313 can be used to stream photos, musc, and vdeos to UPnP
AV compatble network meda players.
The ncluded CD contans D-Lnk's Easy Search Utlty. After the ntal nstallaton and hard drve formattng s completed, ths
utlty allows you to locate the DNS-313 on the network and map drves to your computer. Backup software s also ncluded on
the CD. Ths software allows you to backup your files from a computer to the DNS-313 manually, by a schedule, or n real-tme.
Real-tme backups are a great way to safeguard aganst unfortunate accdents that may result n the loss of mportant files.

Note: Please insert an Ethernet cable from your router to the DNS-313 and run the installation wizard included in the CD
whenever you install a new Hard Drive to the DNS-313. When first powered on, during the initial boot sequence, the DNS-313
will wait to be assigned an IP address via DHCP. If it does not receive a DHCP assigned IP address, by default it will have a
self-assigned IP address of 192.168.0.32.
