5. Connect an Ethernet cable to the available Ethernet

port. This cable should connect the DNS-313 to your

local network via a router or switch, or directly to a

computer for configuration.

6. Connect the supplied power adapter to the power

receptacle.

Note: When a hard disk is installed, the hard disk must

first be formatted in the DNS-313 before it can be used.

Insert the Installation CD into your computer's CD-ROM or

DVD-ROM drive and follow the instructions below to use

the Easy Search Utility to establish a network link to the

DNS-313. Then use the web-based management software

to format the new hard disk. All installed hard disks must

first be formatted in the DNS-313 before use.
