DURING MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS ALL POSSIBLE SAFETY
PRECAUTIONS SHOULD BE TAKEN TO PROTECT PERSONNEL
WORKING ON THE EQUIPMENT.
(Disconnect CB from HV system, remove LV supplies etc.)
The apparatus should be subjected to visual inspection. If patches of
corrosion are found begin reconditioning of the affected parts.
The table below gives the process respecting surface finish and protection:

 Degreasing with solvent.
 Application of a coat of zinc
paint.
 Thorough degreasing with sol-
vent.
 Application of a coat of lacquer
using a brush.
 Scouring of paint surface with
emery paper 400.
 Thorough degreasing with sol-
vent.
 Application of a coat of primer,
then drying for 24 h.
 Application
of
a
polyurethane lacquer using a
brush.
