The date and time of each event shown in the log is based on the setting of your PC's built-in clock/calendar. If the dates or times shown do not appear to be
correct, please check to be sure that your PC's clock/calendar is set correctly. If you change the system time while the application is running, you will need to
restart the software so that the correct times are shown in the log.
The Event Log maintains a list of all events that have been recorded since the Log was last cleared. You can clear the Log manually by clicking on the Clear Log
button at the top of the screen.
Event Logs are stored in a directory on your PC's hard disk. The maximum capacity of that directory is 3 MB. Whenever the Event Log grows to a size greater than
500 KB, a new Event Log file will be created, and the old log file will remain on your hard disk. If the total size of the files in your Event Log directory exceeds 3
MB, the system will automatically delete the oldest log file in order to free some space for new event records.
In addition to the Event Log, your Motorola homesight
Software maintains a set of internal logs that may be used by a technical support representative to help
(TM)
in determining the source of any problem that you may encounter. If the support representative requires a copy of your logs, you may be asked to click on the Zip
Logs button at the bottom of the Event Log screen. Clicking on that button will gather all of the necessary logs into a convenient ".zip" file that you can e-mail to
the support representative.
