Motion Sensor
The Motion Sensor is a battery-operated sensor that uses a heat-based passive infrared (PIR) element to detect the presence of motion. When motion is detected,
the sensor will send an event to the Wireless System Controller. The software can be configured to trigger a set of actions based on this event. Typically, the
Motion Sensor will be used in conjunction with a camera to offer optimal performance in capturing the subject in the frame of the image or video capture. For
example, the sensor could be mounted slightly ahead of the field of view of the camera, and the software can be configured to chirp a siren and capture an image
or video when motion is detected.
The Motion Sensor offers a field of view of 80 degrees with a distance of up to 20 feet. It is recommended that the sensor be positioned so that typical motion will
be moving across the field of view instead directly towards the sensor.
Mounting the Contact Sensor
The Motion Sensor should typically be mounted no more than 60 to 80 feet from the Wireless System Controller (for indoor operation). The sensor and controller
use radio frequencies to communicate with each other. These frequencies can go through objects such as walls, ceilings, and floors, so you can put the sensor in a
different room from the controller.
The Motion Sensor package is constructed of UV-resistant ABS plastic allowing for indoor or sheltered outdoor use. The sensor should be mounted in an upright
position with the LED lamp (located on the front side of the sensor) visible. The lamp flashes when the sensor is communicating with the Wireless System
Controller.
