Chapter 8 Startup Using nV-Tool

8.2.2 About "FL-net LAN" and "FL-net Control LAN"

When the network where the FL-net communication was used is registered on nV-Tool, it is
necessary to register FL-net module (FL622) and FL-net remote I/O station (FL654A) in another
network type. This is because of the limitation in the specification of nV-Tool.
In nV-Tool, the registration of the send data of the data communication module (registration of the
network variable) is executed on talker block of the network where the data communication
module is registered. Moreover, the registration of receive data is a method to allocate the network
variable to the reception side.
Because the network type is different, the network variable of FL-net module cannot be registered
as receive data in "FL-net Control LAN". Similarly, the network variable of FL-net remote I/O
station cannot be registered as receive data in "FL-net LAN".
Dummy station (other station) is used on each network to use the network variable of another
network (Refer to Figure 8-5).

The data that FL622 transmits is treated as data that "FL-net Control LAN Dummy station"
transmits in the "FL-net Control LAN" network.
The data that FL654A transmits is treated as data that "FL-net LAN Dummy station" transmits in
the "FL-net LAN" network.
The method of setting the dummy station is explained from the next paragraph.
