Note: Before you add a port, confirm that the port number is not already in use.
For a complete list of the imagePRESS Server ports that have an assigned function, see the ports list table
provided at the end of this document.
If your printer has MEAP (Multifunctional Embedded Application Platform) applications installed, certain ports
may be required to be open. MEAP applications are Java-based optional applications that run on the printer.
Some MEAP applications bidirectionally communicate with remote computers and relevant application servers
on your network through the imagePRESS Server. The imagePRESS Server transfers packets through certain
ports as a broadcast medium over a TCP/IP connection. For information about MEAP applications and the
related port requirements, see the documentation that accompanies your printer.
Note: Multicasting and broadcasting are supported for the MEAP applications.
Enable Other Ports
Select to allow additional ports to be added.
Setup Other Ports
You can add, redirect, or delete specified ports or a specified range of ports.
Note: The ability to add or modify ports is only available through the printer control panel (under Network > IP
Port Setup > Setup Other Ports). It is not available through Configure.
Note: Do not specify the same port, or the same port range, more than once.
Note: You can register a maximum of 100 ports or ranges of ports for Add Port, Add Port Range, Redirect Port,
and Redirect Port Range combined.
Add Port
Press to specify a port to add.
Add Port Range
Press to specify a range of ports to add.
From Port: Enter the starting port of the range.
To Port: Enter the ending port of the range. The value must be greater than the starting value entered in
From Port.
Redirect Port
Press to specify a port to redirect.
Original Port: Enter the original port to be redirected.
Target Port: Enter the target port for the redirected traffic.
Redirect Port Range
Press to specify a range of ports to redirect.
