Check-out with a Handheld Communicator

This section covers a subset of the functions available with a handheld. If the SVI FF is not
equipped with optional pushbuttons and local display the checkout and configuration is
performed using the standard FF communications interface. In addition to the functions
performed with the local pushbuttons additional functions are performed with the handheld.
For example, the instrument tag descriptor is written and stored in non-volatile memory and
used for point to point wiring checkout.
onnect the handheld communicator to the SVI FF as shown in Figure 55. Refer to the product
C
manual for the communicator.

Be sure that the configuration lock jumper is in the unlock position. When the jumper is in the
lock position (shorting the two-pin header) the handheld is not permitted to make any
changes. However, parameters are readable. If fault messages appear, they must be handled
before proceeding with communications. Before communications proceeds all error
messages must be cleared. For example, the following message is displayed if the instrument
has been serviced and the air is not connected.
