Installation Guide for "DiXiM Media Server" Software

The DiXiM Media Server is used to publish (or deliver) music to the MusicCAST MCX-2000 over a home network.
This software, after being installed on the computer, begins to operate immediately whenever the computer is booted up, to publish the content con-
tained in a pre-specified folder. The content delivered to the MusicCAST MCX-2000 is processed specifically for delivering music, photos, and video
over the network, so that the original files are not actually copied.
This installation guide is designed to help you smoothly install the DiXiM Media Server. For information about server operation and function details,
please refer to the "DiXiM Media Server Help" that is installed on the computer together with the software
Install the DiXiM Media Server onto the computer containing
the music, video, and photos to be shared
The operating environment for the DiXiM Media Server is as follows:
Insert the bundled CD-ROM into your PC.
The browser will automatically start, so begin to install the soft-

ware according to the instructions displayed on the screen.
If the browser does not automatically start, please double-click the
"Index.html" file on the CD-ROM.
The name set here will be displayed as the server name on the
MusicCAST MCX-2000 on your home network,

When Windows XP Service Pack 2 is used:
Here, you can set up the Windows Firewall required to use the
DiXiM Media Server. To set up this Firewall, click the [Yes]
button. If you want to set it up later, or use another firewall,
click the [No] button.
The install status will be displayed.
If Windows XP Service Pack 2 is installed, the "Windows Firewall"
setup dialog box will open. In other environments, the dialog box
indicating the completion of installation will open.

Click the "Finish"button.
In the following cases, please refer to the DiXiM Media Server Help.
• When the "Internet Connection Firewall" in Windows XP SP1 is
used:
