SMTP:
This is mainly used for sending emails.
All successfully sent email will be moved to your Sent folder. In
addition, every time you connect to the net and log in to your
mailbox, email residing in your Outbox will automatically be
delivered out through the server.
IMAP:
It is a faster and more memory efficient method of receiving email
because your email is not downloaded when you log in to your
mailbox. You will see the headers of your incoming email, if you
would like to read the content just tap on the header concerned
and that email will be downloaded.
You should consult your Email Service Provider in order to determine the

type of email server that they are using.
User Name:
When you apply for your email account, you need to define a user name.
Whenever you log in to your email account, the server will ask for this user
name for identification purposes.
Password:
Your Password is used in conjunction with your User name. You need to
define it when you are applying to your Service Provider for your email
service. Whenever you log in to your email account, the server will ask you
for your User name and password for identification purposes, and
authenticate access to your personal mailbox.
! The User Name and Password mentioned here are not the same as the
user name and password you need for connection to the Internet.
Email Address:
Your Email address is the address on the Internet where you receive your
email. All emails sent from your friends and colleagues will be delivered to
your mailbox using this email address. When you apply for your email
account, the email address will be assigned to you. Once it is assigned, it
cannot be changed. It consists of 2 parts separated by a "@". For example,
abcd@efg.hijk.lmn.
