9.5.2 Equipment Safety

When powering down the varioPRINT, service technicians or trained operators
should always power OFF the system from the power button located on the top
of the varioPRINT near the base of the operator panel.
When working inside the machine, take special care to:
• Avoid contact with sharp edges.
• Pay special attention when two or more persons are performing maintenance
on the varioPRINT.
• Make sure all personnel are clear when starting the machine.

9.5.3 Tool Safety

Key operators that perform customer maintenance must be familiar with the use
of basic tools, such as wrenches, screwdrivers, clean wipes, and cotton swabs.
The following guidelines must be followed at all times to minimize and prevent
accidents:
• Keep tools clean and neatly stored when they are not in use.
• Discard broken tools. Do not use them.
• Prevent tools and parts from falling into the equipment.
• Use the correct tool to repair or adjust the equipment.
• Use the tool in the way it is intended to be used.
