16) S I N G L E S W E E P O P E R A T I O N
T h i s mode
of display
is useful for
synchronous or one time events.
Procedure:
1. S e t the TRIG-MODE (§) to either A U T O or N O R M . Apply
a signal of approximately the same amplitude and fre-
quency as the signal that is to be observed as the trig-
ger signal and set the trigger level.
2. Set T R I G MODE to R E S E T - observe that the R E A D Y
indicator L E D lights to indicate the reset condition. T h i s
LED goes out w h e n the s w e e p period is completed.
3 . After the above set-up is completed the scope is ready
to operate in the S I N G L E s w e e p mode of operation after
resetting the instrument using the R E S E T s w i t c h . Input
of the trigger signal results in one and only one s w e e p
and R E A D Y indicator L E D goes out.
| — NOTE:
^
With the HORIZ M O D E set to A L T the simultaneous
observation of the A s w e e p and B s w e e p w a v e f o r m s
at SINGLE s w e e p mode is not possible. Also for A L T
(vertical MODE) mode operation simultaneous obser-
vation is not possible. Set the unit to the C H O P mode
in this c a s e .

1 C R T surface readout
By rotating the INTEN ( R E A D O U T ) controller © clock-
w i s e up to the very end, characters are displayed on the
C R T . Adjust the brightness as necessity requires. T h e
C H 1 and C H 2 scale factors are displayed in the lower
part of the C R T in accordance with setting of the MODE
select s w i t c h © . T h e s w e e p scale factor is displayed in
the lower right part. By pulling the •+ •
P U L L x 10 M A G s w i t c h @ , a tenth scale factor of the A
and B S W E E P T I M E / D I V control © © is displayed.
NOTE: When the readout values are displayed, brilliance
modulation may influence the real-time waveform
in some c a s e s . In such a c a s e , rotate the INTEN
( R E A D O U T ) control © fully counterclockwise.
T h e readout function will be turned O F F , and the
brilliance modulation on the real-time waveform
will disappear.
2 Cursor measurement
4 V 1 :
Set the MODE select s w i t c h © to A L T and the
C U R S O R S select s w i t c h © to 4 V 1 , and t w o
horizontal cursor lines are displayed on the C R T
and voltage difference between cursor lines cal-
culated in accordance with setting of the C H 1
V O L T S / D I V control © is displayed in the upper
right on the C R T . By setting the C H 1 V A R I A B L E
controller ( 3 ) to the U N C A L position, voltage ra-
tio is displayed.
Move the cursors to the positions to be measured
w i t h the 4 R E F controller © and A controller (34).

Set the C U R S O R S select s w i t c h (§) to AM 2, vol-
tage difference in accordance with the C H 2 range
setting is displayed in the upper right on the C R T
similarly with the above 4 V 1 .
Set the C U R S O R S select s w i t c h © to AT, and
t w o vertical cursor lines are displayed on the C R T
and time difference between the cursor lines cal-
culated based on the A s w e e p scale factor dis-
played in the lower right is displayed in the upper
right. By setting the S W E E P V A R I A B L E controller
© to the U N C A L position, time ratio is displayed.
11 AT:
Set the C U R S O R S select s w i t c h © to 1 /AT, and
t w o vertical cursor lines are displayed on the C R T
and frequency between the cursor lines calculat-
ed based on the A s w e e p scale factor displayed
in the lower right is displayed in the upper right.
By setting the S W E E P V A R I A B L E controller © to
the U N C A L position, phase difference is dis-
played.
