SYMPTOM

• This unit is equipped with a microprocessor. Its performance could be adversely affected by external electrical noise or i nterfer­
ence. If this should happen, turn off the power, and disconnect this unit from any power sources. including lithium batteries. etc.
Then reconnect the power sources (to resume operation).
• If the characters displayed in the viewfinder appear to malfunction. immediately turn the POWER switch to OFF, disconnect the
power source for a few seconds and then reconnect. Turn the power on again. When the characters in the viewfinder become
normal, set the date and time; then. resume operation.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Safety devices are functioning.
• The battery pack i s not charged.
• The power source i s not correctly
connected.
• Depleted battery pack.
• Dew in camcorder.
• Battery pack has memory effect .
• Lens cap on.
• I n VCR mode.
• Erasure protection hole
closed on cassette.
• TV not properly adjusted.
• White balance is wrong.
• Poor lighting.
• Calendar/Time has not been set.
• Dust or other foreign matter on lens.
• Not properly focused.
• Diopter adjustment is not properly set.
• SHUTIER SPEED set to high speed
mode.
• Improperly connected to TV.
• TV's channel not properly set.
• White balance not properly adjusted
during recording.
• Dirty video heads
• Worn video heads.
• Old or worn tape.
• Cassette is not right side
up or is b<ickwards
• Unit is in Camera Recording mode.
• Tape is already completely rewound.

SUGGESTED SOLUTION
• Disconnect the AC adaptor cord; then,
plug it into the wall outlet again. (Page 1 8. )
• Recharge the battery pack. (Page 1 7 . )
• Connect the power source correctly. (Page 1 8 .)
• Use a fully charged battery pack.
• Wait until dew dries. (Page 4 . )
• Refresh the battery pack. (Page 1 7 .)
• Remove the lens cap. (Page 2 1 .)
• Turn the POWER switch
to CAMERA. (Page 21 .)
• Slide the erasure protection tab.
• Adjust the TV. (See TV operation manual.)
• Reset the white balance or set to Auto White
Balance mode. (Page 24, 35.)
• Apply additional lighting or correct temperature
of lighting. (Page 26 )
• Check the lithium battery and reset the
calendar/time. (Page 1 2 , 1 3)
• Clean the lens.
• Adjust the focus.

• Adjust diopter adjustment ring. (Page 1 6 . )
• Press the SHUTIER SPEED button to select
standard mode. (Page 36.)
• Reconnect properly. (Page 27. 28.)
• Set.TV to channel 3 or 4, if the RF converter is

• Set TV to AV channel position if the AN input

• Make sure the white balance is properly
