1) Super Wide-Angle Indicator
When the view shown is through
the wide-angle lens, "SUPER
WIDE" is displayed along with a
SUPER WIDE
white rectangle which shows the
field of view of the zoom lens. If
you press the LENS SELECT but-
ton to switch to the zoom lens
view, the scene within the white
rectangle will expand to fill the
viewfinder.

When the REC START/STOP but-

ton is pressed and recording
begins, the display shown on the
left will appear in the viewfinder.

Tape counter
The tape counter n u m bers contin-
ue to change as the tape moves.
This function continues even when
the indicator is not shown on the
screen.
If the counter memory is engaged,
"M" appears to the left of the tape
counter indicator.
These are the only indicators
that can be recorded on tape.

High Speed Shutter Recording
When the SHUTIER SPEED b ut-
ton is pressed, the sh utter speed
changes as follows:

1 /4000:
1 / 1 0000:
Not displayed: Standard mode

Manual Focus

When the Full Auto Lock mode is
off, press the FOCUS button on
the top of the camcorder to select
the Manual Focus mode. "MANU-
AL FOCUS" appears when the
FOCUS button is pressed. Press
the button again to select Auto
Focus mode.

White Balance Lock
EJ
When the Full Auto mode is off,
press the WHITE BALANCE but-
ton to engage the White Balance
Lock mode.
"W. BALANCE LOCK" ap pears
when the WHITE BALANC E bu tton
is pressed. Press the button again
to select Auto White Balance.

Gain-Up/BLC
The Gain-Up mode is engaged.
" (})(]) " appears when the
BLC/GAIN-UP button is pressed
while "LIGHT" is displayed.

Also, for subjects with strong
backlighting, press the BLC/
GAIN-UP button. The Backlight
Compensation mode is selected

If the FADER bu tton is pressed

during the Recording Pause or
recording mode, " FADER" is dis-
played in the viewfinder.
To fade in or fade out, press the
REC START/STOP button. " FADE
IN" or "FADE OUT" is displayed
