2. Measuring the Length and Setting the Functions

2-1. Obtaining the Length Measurement Values

Before starting to measure the length, turn on the power and confirm that power indicator of the main unit is lit on.

2-1-1. Using the application to obtain the length measurement values

Connect the main unit to a computer, and use the Non-Contact Displacement Sensor software to measure the length.
For details, see the User's Manual of "Non-Contact Displacement Sensor Software."
The positive and negative of the length measurement data follow the definition shown in the following figure.

- Real-time monitoring
You can monitor the displacement of the target measurement object in real time.
Select the displacement or speed in the length measurement setting and then press the length measurement start
button to display the graph of the displacement information.
Information such as the measured length between the length measurement start and end is also displayed.
- Obtaining data
Time series data displayed in graph can be saved in CSV file format.
- Error, warning
A detected error or warning is displayed on the Non-Contact Displacement Sensor software.
See sections "5-2. Error" and "5-3. Warning."

2-1-2. Obtaining the length measurement values by pulse output

If an external device connected to the main unit via the optional I/O cable gives a trigger to start measuring the length,
the length starts to be measured.
After the measurement starts, the I/O connector of the main unit outputs AB phase pulse signals depending on the
displacement of the target measurement object.
The output AB phase pulse signals are line-driver outputs. (See 5-4. I/O Circuit)
If an error or warning occurs, the error/warning signal is output.
