Option Settings
FUNCTION
1. Press these keys:

settings (to scroll backwards, press the *
key).
3. When the desired setting appears, enter
a selection for the setting (see below) by
pressing the number keys.
4. After entering a selection, the subsequent
setting appears. To return to the date and
time display, press:

FINE PRIORITY
This option sets the default resolution for
transmitting documents. Press 1 (YES) to
set the default resolution to FINE, or 2 (NO)
to set it to STANDARD.
NUMBER OF RINGS
This sets the number of rings the fax
machine waits before answering an
incoming call in FAX and TEL/FAX
reception modes. Enter a number from 2 to
5.
RECALL INTERVAL
This sets the amount of time your fax will
wait between automatic redials when the
line is busy. Enter 01 for 1 minute, 02 for 2
minutes, etc., up to a maximum of 15
minutes.
RECALL TIMES
This sets the maximum number of times
your fax will automatically redial if the line is
busy. Enter any number from 00 to 10.
TEL/FAX REMOTE NUMBER
This sets the number that you can press on
an extension phone (followed by **) to
activate fax reception. Enter any number
from 0 to 9.
REMOTE RECEPTION
Press 1 if you want to be able to activate fax
reception from an extension phone using

the above TEL/FAX REMOTE NUMBER.
Press 2 to turn remote reception off.
TRANSACTION REPORT
This sets the condition under which a
transaction report is printed. Press a
number key from 1 to 5 as follows:
1: After every transmission and reception.
2: After an error, timer or memory
transmission.
3: Only after transmissions.
4: Only after errors.
START
5: Never.
PSEUDO RING DURATION
This sets the duration of the special ringing
sound that alerts you to voice calls in TEL/
FAX reception mode. Press 1 for 15
seconds, 2 for 30 seconds, 3 for 60
seconds, or 4 for 120 seconds.
QUIET DETECT TIME
When an answering machine is connected
to the fax and the reception mode is set to
A.M., the fax will take over the line and
begin reception if it detects a certain
duration of silence after the answering
machine answers a call. This sets the
duration of silence in seconds. Enter a
number from 01 to 10, or enter 00 to turn off
the function.
QUIET DETECT START TIME
Use this if you need to delay the start of the
above Quite Detect Time function. Enter a
two-digit number for the number of seconds
of the delay (00 to 15).
OFF HOOK HOLD
This setting can be used to make the fax
automatically take over the line a set
number of seconds after an answering
machine connected to the fax answers. Set
the number of seconds by entering a 3-digit
number (001 to 255), or enter 000 to turn off
the function.
