Note:
Each of the gearbox sections must be
filled separately.
Note:
Keep the mower deck level to the ground
when filling the gearbox with oil. Do not fill
the gearbox with the mower deck raised in the
service position.

Apply a Teflon pipe sealant to the 3 large oil
plugs and install them into the gearbox.

Greasing the Caster Pivots

Service Interval: Every 400 hours/Yearly (whichever
comes first) (more often in dirty or
dusty conditions).
Yearly—Repack the caster-wheel bearings
(more often in dirty or dusty conditions).
1.
Park the machine on a level surface, disengage
the blade-control switch, and engage the parking
brake.
2.
Shut off the engine, remove the key, and wait
for all moving parts to stop before leaving the
operating position.
3.
Remove the dust cap and adjust the caster
pivots and keep the dust cap off until greasing is
done; refer to
Greasing the Caster-Wheel Hubs
(page
35).
4.
Remove the hex plug.
5.
Thread a grease fitting into the hole.
6.
Pump grease into the fitting until it oozes out
around the top bearing.
7.
Remove the grease fitting from the hole. Install
the hex plug and cap.
