Chapter 4 – Parameters
60.02 TORQUE
SELECTOR
4-6
Typically, this parameter value need to be changed only in the Follower
station(s). The parameter selects the reference used for motor torque
control when External control location 2 (EXT2) is chosen (Parameter
11.02 EXT1/EXT2 SELECT).
Note: If External control location 1 (EXT1) is chosen (Parameter 11.02
EXT1/EXT2 SELECT), the torque reference selector is ignored. The
Follower is speed-controlled. See the control connection diagrams in
Appendix A – Control Signal Connections .
SPEED
The speed controller output is used as reference for motor torque
control (see Figure 4-1). The drive is speed controlled.
SPEED can used with both the Follower and the Master if
• the motor shafts of the Master and Follower are connected flexibly. A
slight speed difference between the Master and the Follower is
possible/allowed.
• drooping is used (see Parameter 60.06 DROOP RATE).
TORQUE
Torque reference is the reference used for the motor torque control
(see Figure 4-1), i.e. the drive is torque-controlled. External control
location 2 (EXT2) must be active to make the TORQUE selection
effective.
The TORQUE selection is used in the Follower(s) when the motor
shafts of the Master and Follower are coupled fixedly to each other by
gearing, a chain or other means of mechanical power transmission and
no speed difference between the drives is allowed or possible.
Note: If TORQUE is selected, the ACS 600 does not restrict the speed
variation as long as the speed is within the limits defined with
Parameters 20.01 MINIMUM SPEED and 20.02 MAXIMUM SPEED.
Often a more definite speed supervision is needed. In those cases, the
selection ADD should be used instead of TORQUE.
MINIMUM
The torque selector compares the torque reference and the speed
controller output (see Figure 4-1), the smaller of which is used as the
reference for motor torque control. MINIMUM is selected in certain
special cases only. External control location 2 (EXT2) must be active to
make the MINIMUM selection effective.
