The acyclic channel MSCY_C2 (see diagram above) is used exclusively for the start-up and
servicing of SIMOVIS.
Mechanisms for processing parameters via the PROFIBUS:
The PKW mechanism (with PPO types 1, 2 and 5 and for the two acyclic channels MSAC_C1 and
MSAC_C2) can be used to read and write parameters. A parameter request job is sent to the drive
for this purpose. When the job has been executed, the drive sends back a response. Until it
receives this response, the master must not issue any new requests, i.e. any job with different
contents, but must repeat the old job.
The parameter section in the telegram always contains at least 4 words:
Parameter identifier
The parameter value is entered as PWE2 (also as PWE1 with double words) in write jobs.
Index IND contains the value zero for non-indexed parameters and the appropriate index value for
indexed parameters. An index value of 255 means that the job refers to all indices of the
corresponding parameter. The parameter values for all indices of the parameter must therefore be
transferred with a write job. In contrast, the drive returns all index values in the response telegram
for a read job.
The parameter identifier defines what task should be performed by which parameter. It is a 16-bit
value consisting of the following areas:
Job/response identifier
Bits 0 to 10 contain the number of the relevant parameter. Bits 12 to 15 contain the job identifier or
the response identifier as defined in the following list:
