Servicing the Battery

Service Interval: Every 25 hours—Check the electrolyte
level (or every 30 days if the machine is
in storage).
Every 50 hours—Check the condition of the battery.
Important: Before welding on the machine, disconnect
the negative cable from the battery to prevent damage to
the electrical system.
Note: Keep the terminals and the entire battery case clean
because a dirty battery discharges slowly. To clean the battery,
wash the entire case with a solution of baking soda and water.
Rinse with clear water. Coat the battery posts and cable
connectors with Grafo 112X (skin-over) grease (Toro Part
No. 505-47) or petroleum jelly to prevent corrosion.
