Fuel Filter

Replace the fuel filter after every 200 operating hours
or yearly, whichever occurs first.
Replacing the Fuel Filter
Never re–install a dirty filter.
1. Lower the loader arms and turn the ignition key
to "OFF" to stop the engine. Remove the key.
2. Clamp fuel line between fuel tank and fuel filter
to block fuel flow.
3. Squeeze the ends of the hose clamps together
and slide them away from the filter (Fig. 14).
4. Remove the filter from the fuel lines.
5. Install a new filter and move the hose clamps
close to the filter.
6. Remove clamp blocking fuel flow.

Draining The Fuel Tank
POTENTIAL HAZARD
In certain conditions gasoline is extremely
flammable and highly explosive.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
A fire or explosion from gasoline can burn
you, others, and cause property damage.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
Drain gasoline from the fuel tank when the
engine is cold. Do this outdoors in an open
area. Wipe up any gasoline that spills.
Never drain gasoline near an open flame or
where gasoline fumes may be ignited by a
spark.
Never smoke while handling fuel.
1. Park the machine on a level surface, to assure
fuel tank drains completely. Then lower the
loader arms and turn the ignition key to "OFF"
to stop the engine. Remove the key.
2. Loosen the hose clamp and slide it up the fuel
line away from the fuel filter.
3. Pull the fuel line off fuel filter and allow
gasoline to drain into a gas can or drain pan.
Note: Now is the best time to install a new
fuel filter because the fuel tank is
empty.
4. Install the fuel line onto the fuel filter. Slide the
hose clamp close to the fuel filter to secure the
fuel line.
