Chapter 2: Set Up A New HX2

This page lists a quick outline of the steps you might take when setting up a new HX2. More instruction for each step is listed
later in this guide. Please refer to the HX2 Reference Guide for additional information and instruction.

Note:
Installing or removing accessories should be performed on a clean, well-lit surface. When necessary,
protect the work surface, the HX2, and components from electrostatic discharge.

Quick Start - Assembly

Fasten the armband to your left or right arm before continuing with these directions.
1. Slide the battery into the battery sleeve on the armband.
2. Snap all tethered devices to the connectors at the back of the HX2.
3. Snap the HX2 into the armband mounting bracket.
4. Attach the battery cable to the battery.
5. Connect audio devices, if included.
6. Slip the ring scanner (if included) over one of your fingers, making sure your thumb or trigger finger can easily reach the
Scan button.
7. Adjust the HX2 arm assembly for comfort. Occasionally check all connectors for stability.
The wearable computer is ready for use.

End User License Agreement (EULA)

When a new HX2 starts up a EULA is displayed on the touchscreen. It remains on the screen until the Accept or Decline button
is tapped with a stylus.
Tap the Accept button to accept the EULA terms and the HX2 continues the startup process. The EULA is not presented to the
user again.
Tap the Decline button to decline the EULA and the HX2 will reboot. It will continue to reboot until the Accept button is tapped
with the stylus.
Note:
The EULA will be presented after any operating system upgrade or re-installation, including language-
specific operating systems.
