Section810 of the NationalElectricCode, A NSI/NFPA No. 70-1984,
providesinformationwith respectto propergroundingof the mats
and supporting structure grounding of the lead-in wire to an
antennadischargeunit, size of grounding connectors, location of
antenna-dischargeunit, connectionto grounding electrodesand
requirements for thegroundingelectrode. S eeFig.below.
15. Non-use Periods - The power cord of the applianceshould be
unpluggedfrom the outlet when left unusedfor a long period of
time.
18. Object andLiquid Entry- Careshouldbe takenso thatobjects do
not fall and liquidsare not spilled into the enclosurethrough
openings.
17. DamageRequiring Service- Theapplianceshould be serviced by
qualifiedservice personnel when:
A. Thepowersupply cordor theplughasbeen damaged; or
B.
Objectshave fallen, or liquid has been spilled into the
appliance; or
C. Theappliance h asbeenexposed torain;or
D. Theappliance d oesnotappear to operate normallyor exhibits
a markedchange in performance; or
E. Theappliance hasbeendropped,or theenclosure damaged.
18. Servicing - The usershould not attempt to servicethe appliance
beyond that described in the operating instructions. All other
servicingshouldbe referredto qualifiedservicepersonnel.
Note to the CATVsystem installer: This reminderis provided to callthe
CATV system instager's attention to Article 820-40 of the NEC that
providesguidelines for propergroundingand, in particular,specifiesthat
the cable ground shall be connected to the grounding system of the
building, as closeto the pointof cableentry as practical.
