Power
The power does not turn on.
Check that the AC power cnrd is connected
securel?.
Picture
There is no picture.
Re-cnunect :ill connectiug coMs secure b.
The conuectiug cords are damaged.
Check the connectiun to yuur TV (page 12).
Switch the input selector un yuur TV (such as to
"VIDEO") so that the signal from the recorder
appears on the TV screen.
Picture noise appears.
Check tile connection to your TV (page 12) and
switch the input selector on your TV su that the
signal l'ron/the recorder appears un the TV
screeu.
If the picture output signal from your recorder
passes through your VCR to get to your TV. or if
you are cunuected to a combination TV/VIDEO
player, the copy-prntection
signal applied to
some DVD programs could affect picture
quality. If you still experience this prublem even
when you connect your recorder directly to your
TV. try connecting yuur recorder to your TV's
S VIDEO input.
You have set the recorder to progressive forn/at
even though your TV caunot accept the
progressive signah Ill this case. set "Progressive"
to "Off" in "Video" setup (page 97), or press
DVD ill stop mode to operate the DVD recorder
and then hold down || PAUSE on the recorder
for five seconds or more.
Even if your TV is compatible with progressive
format (480p) signals, the image may be affected
when you set the recurder to prugressive funnat.
Ill this case. set "Progressive"
to "Oft _' ill
"Videu" setup (page 97h or press DVD ill stop
There is no picture or the picture noise appears
when connected to the DV IN
jack.
Try, tile l'ollo'_ ing: @Turn the recoMer off and
on again. @Turn the connected equipment uff
and on again. @Discunnect
and then connect the
i.LINK cable again.

If the HDMI OUT.jack is used for video output,
changing the "HDMI Resolution" setting ill tile
"Video" setup may sulve the problem (page 961.
Connect the TV and the recorder using a videu
jack other than tile HDMI OUT, and switch tile
TV's input tn the connected video input so that
ynu can see the un-screeu displays. Change the
"HDMI Resolutiun" setting ill tile "Video" setup,
and switch the TV's input back to HDMI. If the
picture still does not appear, repeat the steps and
try other options.
The recurder is connected tu all input device that
is not HDCP compliant (page 16).
Thechannelonthe cablebox/satellitereceiver
has been changed.
Tile set top box cuntroller is connected and "Set
Top BoxControl" is set tu "On." Check tile "Set
Top Box Contrul" settings ill "Features" setup
(page 101).
The picture from equipmentconnectedto the
recorder's input jack does notappear on the
screen.
If tileequipment is connected to tile LINE l IN
jack. select "LINEI" illthe front panel display by
pressing INPUT.
If the equipmem is connected to the LINE 2 IN
.jacks. select "LINE2" illthe frunt panel display
by pressing INPUT.
