Order of actions

Take Chassis Backup using OME-M GUI.

Perform Leave Group using OME-M GUI

Replace RCP

Program Chassis Service Tag using racadm:

Restore the previous Backup using OME-M
GUI.

Join the MCM group
WARNING:
The above RCP replacement procedure will result in loss of some configuration stored on RCP.
Backup/Restore (Step #1/#4,#5) if successfully executed will restore some configuration but not all. Customer
will have to reconfigure chassis including any network fabric configuration for Dell switches.
NOTE:
RCP replacement will result in new IP address if DHCP was enabled.

Order of actions

If OME-M version is lower than 1.1.0, then
update the OME-M to 1.1.0 before continuing
the steps below

If the Backup Lead is configured, continue to
step 3. If the Backup Lead is not configured,
configure a Backup Lead before continuing to
step 3.

Completely Power off the chassis

Go to Backup Lead and Promote it as Lead

Replace RCP

Program Chassis Service Tag using racadm:

Perform force Reset MM Configuration: using
the REST API

Go to the new Lead, click the repair options
and join this chassis as a member to the group
Removing the right control panel ear
Prerequisites
NOTE:
Before working on the right control panel ear, ensure to remove the sled or sled blank from bay 8.
Steps
1. Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the screw that secures the control panel cable access hatch to the enclosure.
2. Remove the control panel cable access hatch.
3. Pull the blue pull tag, to disconnect the power button cable from the right control panel.
Details
If no previous chassis backup data exists, perform this step to take a new
chassis backup. Persistent storage on RCP needs to be fully functional
for a successful backup. Refer to OME-M API Guide for details
