SYMPTOM
Cable kinking or break-
ing.
Drum stops while
pedal is depressed.
Restarts when pedal is

POSSIBLE REASONS
Cable is being forced.
Cable used in incorrect pipe diameter.
Motor switched to reverse.
Cable exposed to acid.
Cable worn out.
Cable not properly supported.
Hole in pedal or connecting hose.
Hole in diaphragm switch.
Faulty FOR/OFF/REV switch.
Machine is in hibernation mode.
Battery is completely discharged or battery has
failed.
Battery not properly inserted into port of tool.
FXP Power Adapter not correctly inserted into the
tool.
AUTOFEED unit is not routinely cleaned and filled
with debris.
AUTOFEED unit is not greased enough.
Cable not evenly distributed.
Bumpers are not on ground.
Ground not level.
Advanced Display and Control Panel Malfunction.
Sensors not properly seated.
Dirt on sensors.
Wiring damaged.
AUTOFEED unit Latch Assembly Worn.

SOLUTION
Do Not Force Cable! Let the cutter do the work.
Use correct cable for pipe size.
Use reverse only if cable gets caught in pipe.
Clean cables routinely.
If cable is worn, replace it.
Support cable properly, see instructions.
Have machine serviced.

Gently press foot pedal and turn machine ON/OFF.
Insert fully charged battery/replace battery.
Check to assure battery is fully inserted.
Correctly insert Power Adapter into tool.
Clean AUTOFEED unit.

Pull all cable out and feed in again, evenly dis-
tribute.
Place on level stable surface.

Confirm that drum and gearbox sensor pickups
are properly positioned and secure. Tighten sensor
pickup set screw if needed.

of the service needs of this machine. Any problems not
addressed by this section should only be handled by a
RIDGID Authorized Independent Service Center. Use
only RIDGID service parts.
