9.1
Programming
Program the following parameters with the DIP switch:
- Range, sensitivity, save fault / do not save fault,
Operating mode SCM 3000 / Viewguard
Do not save:
Fault/cover signal is automatically
cleared after elimination of the fault/
cover.
Anti-Mask function can be taught in again to the altered ambient
conditions (e.g. due to refurnishing) by resetting the walk test signal
from low to high (adaption of AM function).
Save:
Fault/cover signal remains saved in the detector until it is cleared
(see 9.4.2)
For installation in accordance with VdS standards, the
following points must be observed:
Sensitivity "high"
- Area optics: range 15 m
- Long-range optics: range 50 m
- Curtain optics: range 30 m
Anti-Mask function
When operated in compliance with VdS, the Anti-Mask
function must be programmed
If the covered state is saved, this prevents arming.

Installation
The feed line is a shielded cable twisted in pairs.
The connection terminal operates according to the lift principle and has
protection against misplacing for the connecting wires. A cross section
of up to 2.5 mm² can be fixed.
The leads must be stripped to a length of 7 mm ±1 mm. If several cores
are required per terminal, ensure that their diameter is of the same size
to ensure secure clamping (if necessary, twisted).
The shield connections must be as short as possible to avoid the risk of
an unintentional short circuit.

Mounting and Connection Instructions Viewguard PIR / AM FAI
9.3
Start-up
9.3.1 Check installation
To ensure reliable functioning, all system parts must be installed
correctly. Measure all the lines to detect possible interruptions or short
circuits.
Ensure that there is no ground fault.
9.3.2 Apply operating voltage
After applying the operating voltage, the detector automatically performs
an initialisation. Both LEDs flash. Do not enter the Anti-Mask range
during initialisation.
ON
After max. 60 seconds the detector is ready for operation.
After this period, do not change anything in the close vicinity (up to 50
cm) that may influence the reflected light.
9.3.3 Walk test
The walk test mode is described in the installation instructions of every
control panel.
Carry out a walk test for each detector in all cases.
Check the surveillance area of the detector.
The PIR detector recognizes movements in response to the temperature
difference between a person and the background of the room. Observe
while performing a walk test:
There would be different ranges for the monitored area / detection
coverage depending on environment conditions. The walk test should
be done under realistic conditions, at this the clothes of the person
and the room temperature do mostly influence the accurateness of the
detection.
To have some reserve even under extremely unfavourable conditions,
the detector should be set to a higher detection range or a second
PIR detector should be installed.
9.3.4 Insert seal
Ensure that the housing is closed correctly.
Insert the seal. The housing is now locked and can only be opened by
removing the seal.
9.4
Operation
9.4.1 LED Indication
- When "Start-up"
The red and yellow LEDs flash:
After applying the operating voltage during initialisation (approx.
30 seconds).
- After disarming with preceding alarm:
Note: A triggerd alarm is saved in the detector until it is cleared.
The red LED flashes:
First alarm
(this detector was the first to trigger an alarm)
The red LED lights up:
Subsequent alarm
To clear LED indication activate walk test
- Operating state "Walk test"
The red LED lights up:

The yellow LED flashes:
This signifies that a
one of the monitoring functions (see 4.2 and 4.3).
The yellow LED lights up:

detected (only AM detectors)
- Operating state "armed" and "disarmed"
The LED indication is blanked
9.4.2 Saved covered state
If the covered state is saved, the system cannot be armed.
Clear saved covered state:
- Remove the cause
- Activate the walk test. Activate the walk test to verify that the detection
is working properly throughout the entire area to be monitored. The sa-
ved coverage will be deleted during this process.
- The detector is ready to operate again.
