1.
General
The Viewguard PIR detector is a motion detector based on the passi-
ve infrared (PIR) principle.
In its state at the time of delivery, it is equipped with a mirror for area
optics. If required, the detector can be easily retrofitted with long ran-
ge or curtain optics (for further details, see Chapter 11).
2.
Features
-
Anti-Mask function (monitoring against covering) with a range of
approx. 30 cm (only AM detectors)

-
function ( irst larm ndication):
The detector that is triggered first, can be identified with the
aid of the LED indication. (not in "Easy Logic" mode).
-
A triggered alarm can be saved in the detector until it is cleared
-
Range settable in 4 stages, sensitivity settable in 2 stages
-
Fault/cover save or do not save
-
Cyclical self-test (only AM detectors)
-
Monitoring of operating voltage
-
Tamper and backtamper
Common switch for tamper and backtamper.
The tamper is always active, the backtamper can be used
when necessary. (see 7.6).
-
The detectors have a high immunity against false alarms
without reference surface

Operating modes - overview
1.)
Easy Logic
(in compliance EN 50131-2-2)
- Alarm indication is not possible
- No control input are used
- Anti-Mask function always active
2.)
Viewguard
(in compliance with VdS and EN 50131-2-2)
- With FAI function
- Used control inputs: "Walk test" and "Disarmed"
- Programmable Anti-Mask function
3.)
SCM 3000 compatible
- With FAI function
- Used Control inputs: "Clear" and "Disarmed"
- Anti-Mask function inactive in "Armed" state

Monitoring functions
4.1
Anit-Mask function
The detector identifies when the foil is covered at a distance of up to
approx. 30 cm. It also identifies if the IR foil of the detector has been
taped or sprayed.
Reaction time: approx. 20 sec., approx. 5 sec. in walk test mode.
The reference value is updated internally so that changes due to
contamination, etc. can be compensated for and the optimum response
threshold is maintained.
When the covering of the detector has been detected, an alarm and fault
message is transmitted to the control panel (the contacts "Alarm" and
"Fault" open). Indication at detector see "LED Indication".
Please observe the notes pertaining to the operating modes "Do not
save" and "Save" in Chapter 9.1 - Programming.
4.2
Self-test
(only AM detectors)
In the "Disarmed" state and "Walk test", the correct PIR function of the
detector is monitored cyclically. In the event of a fault, a fault message
is transmitted to the control panel (the contact "Fault" opens).
Indication at detector in the event of a fault, see "LED Indication".
4.3
Operating voltage monitoring
The compliance with the specified minimum value of the operating
voltage of the detector is permanently monitored.
In the event of a fault, a fault message is transmitted to the control
panel (the contact "Fault" opens). Indication at detector in case of a
fault, see "LED Indication".
