How it works

Many newborn infants are born with jaundice. Jaundice occurs because your baby's liver has not
fully developed and the body has more bilirubin than it can get rid of. Bilirubin is a yellow substance
that's made when the body breaks down old red blood cells. It leaves the body through urine and
stool.
The blue light provided by the device passes through your baby's skin and breaks down the Bilirubin
into compounds that your baby can more easily process into waste. Therefore it is important to
expose your baby's skin to as much of the blue light as possible.
