5.5.5 Replacing a Rack Environment Unit

Prerequisites
Before disconnecting cables from the rack environment unit, label the cables based on the
corresponding ports.



Tool Phillips screwdriver, labels, and marker
Materials: a reserved undamaged and undeformed rack environment unit of the
appropriate model
Label each cable based on the corresponding ports on the rack environment unit.
Disconnect cables from the rack environment unit.
Remove the screws from the mounting ears on both sides of the rack environment unit
and remove the failure rack environment unit.
Secure the reserved rack environment unit in the original position using four screws.
Connect cables to the reserved rack environment unit based on the cable labels.
