2. Next we need to program the Access Code, this is done in location *20:

3. If remote access is desired we have to set up the panels Ring Detection Count or use the existing answering
machine on the site.

Enter 01-15 for Customers with out an answering machine or a dedicated line to the panel
If they have an answering machine you can use the Answering Machine Defeat option by
Entering 15 here. This requires the customer to call, let ring once, hang up, and call back.
4. Notes:
This module is compatible in Rev. 12 or higher of the Vista-40 control panel.
This module is compatible in Rev. 5 or higher of the Vista-50p control panel.

time accessing and programming:
1. To Access the 4286 programming, pick up any phone that is tied to terminals 3 & 4 on the 4286 and enter
your 2 digit phone code.
The system will give you the status of the Control Panel.
2. To enter programming: wait for the status to quit and enter #98 on the telephone keypad.
Upon Doing so the panel will start speaking the 1
"Field 00 is 00".
Programming can only be accessed within 3 hours of power up! After programming the #98 mode
you only have 15 minutes to re-access it. If it has been longer than that you can simply power the
4286 down for 5 seconds then back up and you have your 3 hour time window again.

Press * to move forward from location to location
Press # to move in reverse from location to location

Monitored Keypad Address
This field enables and disables the 4500 Thermostat and the Speaker output
features. This keypad must exist on the system, without it you will not get
the status of the panel.
Enter 31 for a Non-Addressable panel (SE control Panels)
Enter 16-23 for Vista-10/15/20p series controls
Enter 00-30 for Vista-40 and higher controls

Phone Panic Address
Select an unused device address (keypad non existent but must be enabled in
device programming (Look above for what addresses are available).
Assign this address as an alpha keypad through the control panels
programming. (Field 190-196 for the 10/15/20p and *93 for the Vista-40 and
higher controls) Do not set to address 04.
The */# panic on the panel must be enabled, it will be zone 99 or 999
depending on the control panel
