OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
KJ-1590 / KJ-2200 / KJ-3000

1. Safety information

WARNING: READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL INSTRUCTIONS.
FAILURE TO FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS LISTED BELOW
MAY RESULT IN ELECTRIC SHOCK, FIRE, AND/OR
SERIOUS PERSONAL INJUIRY.

A. General safety
If a connection is made to a potable water system, the
system should be protected against backflow in accordance
with all local codes and ordinances.
Don't spray water on the motor nor put the machine in water.
The electric motor is splashproof (isolation class IP 55).
B. Jetter safety
1. Do not operate above 90 Bar (KJ-1590)/ 150 Bar (KJ-
2200)/ 205 BAR (KJ-3000) or 70°C (water temperature).
Tool will do a better and safer job if operated at
recommended pressures.
2. Use caution when handling gasoline. Refuel in well-
ventilated area. Do not overfill fuel tank and do not spill
fuel. Make sure tank cap is closed properly. Gasoline is
extremely flammable and is explosive under certain
conditions.
3. Never run the engine in an enclosed or confined area.
Exhaust contains poisonous carbon monoxide gas;
exposure may cause loss of consciousness and may lead
to dead.
4. Be careful not to touch the muffler while it is hot. To
avoid severe burns or fire hazards, let the engine cool
before transporting or storing it indoors. The muffler
becomes very hot during operation and remains hot for a
while after stopping the engine.
5. Never permit the end of the hose to rotate out of the pipe
being cleaned. Hose can whip causing injury.
6. Water spray should not be pointed at any human. High
pressure spray can result in serious injury. If fluid seems
to have penetrated skin, seek emergency medical
attention at once.
7. Jetter is designed to clean drains. Follow instructions in
Operator's manual on machine's uses. Other uses may
increase the risk of injury.
8. Do not spray flammable liquids. Spraying flammable
liquids could cause a fire or explosion.
9. Do not spray toxic chemicals such as insecticide or weed
killer. Chemicals can be harmful to personnel and
machine.
10. Never clean the machine using its own spray. High
pressure spray may damage machine components.
NOTE: the normal operating pressure of the KJ-1590 is 80
bar. You can run the machine at maximum 90 bar up
to 10 minutes.

2. Machine set up
A. KJ-3000 assembly

Figure 3: rotate hose reel backwards and set into place over
the rear guide pegs. Secure hose reel with rear latch.

B. For gasoline models:
Before start-up
1. Check engine oil level. If low, add Honda 4-stroke oil or
SAE 10W-30 detergent oil. (see honda owner's manual
enclosed for details.)
2. Check engine fuel level. If low add unleaded gasoline with
a pump octane rating of 86 or higher.
3. Remove plug in pump and replace with dipstick/breather
cap. Check the pump oil level. If oil is low, fill with
SAE 30 oil.
4. Remove the plug in gear box and replace with
dipstick/breather cap. Check the gear box oil level. If low
fill with 90W gear lube.
To start the gasoline engine
Manual start:
• Turn the engine switch to the on position.
• Pull the starter grip until resistance is felt, then pull briskly.
Electric start:
• Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the on position.
• Turn the key to the start position to start engine. Release
key after the engine is started.
Note: electric start engines can also be started manually:
make sure the ignition key is turned to the on position. Pull
the starter grip until resistance is felt, then pull briskly.
As the engine warms up, gradually move the choke lever to
the open position and adjust the throttle level for the desired
engine speed.

C. Before operating jetter
1. Connect the quick coupling fitting to the water supply
hose. Connect water supply hose to the jetter inlet and
close the inlet supply valve (figure 6).
