Advanced> Multimedia Support
Use the advanced multimedia support menu to manage high-bandwidth network traffic by
enabling/disabling Internet Group Multicast Protocol (IGMP) traffic and configuring static
multicast groups. These are tasks that require advanced expertise.
Advanced> Multimedia Support>Enable/Disable IGMP
Figure 5-38: Multimedia Support > Enable/Disable IGMP
In networks where multimedia applications generate multicast traffic, IGMP can greatly reduce
unnecessary bandwidth usage by limiting traffic forwarding that is otherwise broadcast to the
whole network. Enabling IGMP will allow individual ports to detect IGMP queries, report packets,
and manage IP multicast traffic through the switch.
