PARPERM

Command:
parperm scope {ON|OFF} nParId[:vParId]
Description:
Changes the authorizations for an OS running in an nPar or vPar.
Off — An OS can only request information using status commands (unrestricted) and can
perform operations that only affect the partition that the OS is running in. This is the default
option.
On — An OS has authorization to perform partition configuration operations affecting
other partitions.
Scope can be set to either npar or vpar. When the scope specified is vpar, the target
partition has authorization to perform vpar operations within the npar to which it belongs.
When the scope specified is npar, the target partition has authorization to perform any npar
operations within the complex.
NOTE:
can be either an nPartition or a vPar.
Parperm without any options will display the current permission specified on the OA.

vpar scope is only applicable to a vpar partition. For npar scope, the target partition

Specifies the default setting for Hyper-Threading in an
nPartition. The valid values for flag are:
y — enables Hyper-Threading, which allows multiple
threads to run concurrently on each CPU.
n — disables Hyper-Threading, this is the default
value.
Specifies the default value for memory granularity (ILM
or SLM) for an nPartition.
Specifies the default of VGA. The flag value can be
either "enable" or "disable".
Target_os is the name of the OS type whose defaults
are to reset. If no target_os is provided, all defaults will
be reset to their original default.
