ABOUT ANTI-STATIC MEASURES PROCESSING AT THE
DETACHING/INSTALLING THE MECHANISM DECK
When detaching or installing the mechanism deck, anti-static mea-
sures processing must be taken.
When detaching or installing the mechanism deck, be sure to per-
form works according to the following procedure.
•
Detaching or installing the mechanism deck
Be sure to perform it before disconnecting or connecting for connec-
tion of the mechanism deck and the MAIN board.
Detaching procedure:
1. Short-circuit the short-land on the board at the bottom of the
mechanism deck by soldering.

Do not disconnect the
FFC in this state.
2. Disconnect the FFC connection between the mechanism deck
and the MAIN board.

This completes the anti-static measures processing for detaching the
mechanism deck.
To attach the detached mechanism deck to the main unit again, refer
to "Installation procedure of the detached mechanism deck".
If you are installing the new mechanism deck without using the de-
tached mechanism deck, refer to "Installation procedure of the new
mechanism deck".
Installation procedure of detached mechanism deck:
1. Connect the FFC between the mechanism deck and the MAIN
board.

2. Remove the solder that was soldered in step 1 of "Detaching
procedure".

This completes the anti-static measures processing for installing the
mechanism deck.
Installation procedure of the new mechanism deck:
1. Attach the new mechanism deck to the chassis top.
Note: Install method of the mechanism deck, install for "3-6. CD MECHA-
NISM DECK" on page 38 in the reverse order.

2. Connect the FFC between the mechanism deck and the MAIN
board.

3. Remove the screw in the position shown fi gure below in the
mechanism deck.
(The removed screw is not used)
