In addition to the messages that can be controlled by the user, listed in the table above, there
are others events captured during operation, e.g.
• Resetting the energy counter
• Changing the time on the 7KN Powercenter 1000
• Time synchronization of the terminal device with the data transceiver after a restart
• DHCP network errors on the 7KN Powercenter 1000
• Different statuses of a firmware update
• Tripping operations with type of trips, e.g. short-circuit, serial or parallel arcing fault
Up to 50 of these messages are displayed in the app under the Messages view, sorted
chronologically. Other message details can be accessed to some extent. In order to avoid an
unnecessary flood of message and the loss of important messages, the limit values for the
alarms must be set in an expedient manner.

Tripping operations in the event of a fault

The circuit protection devices with metering and communication function have different
tripping functions. The devices distinguish between the following tripping reasons according
to the standard protection concept:
Trip cause
Attached device has tripped (reason
unknown)
Manual/mechanical shutdown
Overload (thermal tripping)
Short-circuit
Arcing faults
Overvoltage
Test tripping operation
The aforementioned protection functions are available independent of the communication. If
the communication function is not provided, the trip messages will not be reported.
Note
The 3NA COM fuse cannot communicate any trip messages. The electronic module is unable
to recognize the status of a fuse link.
In order to monitor a trip message or the switching status of the 3NA COM fuse, a
commercially available external fuse monitoring system must be installed via an additional
device. If the fuse element has tripped, communication can no longer take place and the fuse
itself indicates this via a front indicator. The electronic module does not distinguish whether
there is a disconnection of faults, a power failure or the deactivation of a consumer. In any
case, the electronic module reports the "Connection disconnected" status.
