Introduction to the System
42
• 30 blocks minimum available.
• Minimum blocklength = blocklength granularity; if a counted loop starts
at that block: 2 * blocklength granularity.
Generating Loops With the HP E4805A Clock Module
For the E4805A Clock Module we have the following capabilities:
• 4 counted loop levels (1 done on the data modules, 3 done on the clock
module).
• Loop counts may be up to 2
restriction:
LoopCount1 * (blocklength / blocklength granularity Φ== 2
If this restriction is not met, the loop level 1 can not be used. In this case
the looping has to be performed on a higher loop level.
• 1 infinite loop in level 5
• Number of blocks + number of loops on level 1 must be = 60.
• Number of blocks + number of loops on levels 2, 3, or 4 must be = 60.
• Minimum blocklength:
– blocklength granularity if no counted loop is used.
– 2 * blocklength granularity if one loop is starting on level 1, 2, 3, or 4.
– 4 * blocklength granularity if two loops are starting on level 2, 3, or 4.
– 5 * blocklength granularity if loops are starting on level 2, 3, and 4.

Summary of Data-Related Terms

Sequence:
The overall data stream, constructed from data blocks.
Block:
A portion of a sequence that includes segments with generated and
expected data and actions on events. Comprises all data ports. Single
blocks and groups of blocks can be repeated (loops).
Segment:
Contains the data to be generated or expected: A certain pattern, PRBS, or
PRWS. A pattern consists of vectors and traces.
PRBS/PRWS:
Pseudo Random Bit/Word Sequence.
Vector:
Specifies all the parallel, simultaneous bits of a port within a segment.
Trace:
Specifies the serial data transmitted to or expected from a terminal.
