Circuit Operation Functions

3-1. IF-834 Board

3-1-1. Connector Block

The IF-834 board sends the signal input from the connectors of rear panel to the MDR-16 board, and
sends the signal from the MDR-16 board to the connectors on the IF-834 board. The Y, C, and VBS
signals from CN102 are sent to CN107 (Y and CS signals) and CN104 (VBS signal). The
communication signal from CN101 is sent to CN105 and CN106.

3-1-2. Battery Block

A voltage of 8.6 V that is input from pin 2 of CN101 is regulated to 3.6 V using IC101 and used as the
power supply of a backup battery. The output of a secondary backup lithium battery (BT101) is switched
using switch S201 on the SW-1074 board.
3-2. MDR-16 Board

3-2-1. Outline of Microcomputer Operation

A 16-bit microcomputer (IC1101) performs the control of pan and tilt motors, the communication with
the outside, and the communication with a camera block. The pan motor performs inter-switching using
hole element signals input to pins 20, 21, and 22 and detects the position using MR element signals input
to pins 95 and 96. The pan motor outputs a PWM signal from pin 112, and outputs polarity switching
signals from pins 11, 12, and 13 and phase selection signals from pins 16, 17, and 18. The tilt motor
performs inter-switching using hole element signals input to pins 25, 26, and 27 and detects the position
using MR element signals input to pins 97 and 98. The tilt motor outputs a PWM signal from pin 71, and
outputs polarity switching signals from pin 2, 3, and 4 and phase selection signals from pins 7, 8, and 9.
The microcomputer (IC1101) uses pins 89, 90, 91, 116, 117, and 118 to read and write the data of
EEPROM (IC1106). The reset signal generated using a reset IC (IC1107) is input to pin 73. The
microcomputer turns on and off LEDs (D1114 and D1115) using signals output from pins 50 and 51.

3-2-2. Power Block

A voltage of 12 VDC input from pins 1, 2, 3, and 4 of CN1102 is produced to 8.6 V using Q1107, Q1108,
Q1112, and Q1114 that are driven by the switching pulse output from a DC-DC converter (IC1105). A
voltage of 8.6 V is used for a camera block and battery charging. It is also changed to 5.5 V using
Q1109, Q1110, Q1113, and Q1115 that are driven by the switching pulse output from another channel of
IC1105. A voltage of 5.5 V is used to drive a motor and produce 5.0 V and 3.3 V and changed 5.0 V
using IC1102. A voltage of 5.0 V is used for a remote controller and MR amplification-related block and
changed to 3.3 V using IC1103 and Q1111. A voltage of 3.3 V is used for a microcomputer system.
