Circuit Description

4-1. Overall Confi guration
n
Refer to "6-1. Overall Block Diagram" for the circuit block diagrams of all boards of this unit. Refer to
"6-2. Frame Wiring" for the connection diagrams.
A motherboard (MB-1143 board) is located in the center of a chassis. A control panel (DP-455 board), a
dedicated interface unit (CP-406 board), a general-purpose interface unit (IO-243 board), and one SSD
unit for an SMS server are mounted on the front side. Moreover, seven HDD units including four HDD
units for data, two HDD units for ECC, and one spare HDD unit are mounted. The SSD and HDD units
can be replaced by using a caddy structure where an IF-1036 board is installed in the HDD drive and
IF-1180 board is installed in SSD. A system control board (PU-131 board) and decode board (SSP-
27/27A/27B board) are mounted on the rear side. Two redundant fan units and two power units can be
mounted. (One power unit has been provided as a standard feature, and one power unit can be added
optionally.) An SMSCPU board that controls the whole projection system and a CPU board (MPU-148
board) that controls a media block are mounted on the PU-131 board. An audio signal processing board
(APR-85 board) is mounted on the SSP-27 board.
A CN-3058 board that mounts a fan control circuit and backup battery is located in the fan unit.
4-2. MB-1143 Board
The MB-1143 board mounts a PU-131 board, an SSP-27/27A/27B board, a CP-406 board, three IO-243
boards, an SSD unit, seven HDD units, a power unit, and two fan units. It is used to connect each board
and the signal lines between units and supply power. The MB-1143 board also mounts LED correspond-
ing to each HDD unit and displays the HDD status.
4-3. MPU-148 Board
The MPU-148 board mounts CPU that controls a media block. It has a function that communicates with
SMS, a function that imports a DCP contents material group to internal HDD, a playback control function,
and an internal log storage function. The MPU-148 board also has a function that generates the caption
data synchronized with video data and writes it into the memory of a caption processing block. The
MPU-148 board uses MPC8540 as CPU and mounts DDR SDRAM DIMM of 512 MB as main memory.
Various I/F signals (CPU Localbus, PCI-X, and TSEC (network I/F)) from CPU are output to CN2100.
