The direct sound (Direct) reaches a microphone directly from a speaker.
And the reverberation (Rev) is the indirect sound reflected by a wall, floor,
etc. (Fig. 1).
The reverb program sampled in an actual acoustic space naturally includes
both the direct sound and reverberations. You can reproduce both the direct
sound and reverberations or the reverbrations only by setting the "Direct/
Rev" item on the SETUP display: "Direct + Rev" for the direct sound and
reverberations, or "Rev" for the reverberations only.

Secondly, the delay time corresponds to the distance between a
microphone and a speaker. It differs according to the position of the
microphone.
For example, when microphones 1 and 2, and 5 and 6 are arranged as in
Fig. 2, the waveforms starting from the speaker position are shown in Fig.
3.
