8.2.2 If Message Such as Following Appears on the Monitor

If message does not disappear even after taking the countermeasures indicated in this sec-
tion, contact Canon representative or distributor.
Message / Display
[1] EYE CANNOT BE FOUND
PRESS START SW AGAIN
[10] CANCELLED BY USER
Cause
The position of examinee's eye
is off the automatic alignment
range.
Examinee's eye is moving rest-
lessly.
The pupil is obscured by eye-
lashes or eyelid.
Pupil is eccentric or deformed.
The center of the pupil could not
be found due to effect of surgery,
etc.
Problem in surface of cornea.
Effect of external light.
The examiner has cancelled the
automatic measurement by
pressing one of the switches, or
measurement error has
occurred.

Remedy
Use the roller and trackball to
move the position of the exam-
inee's eye on the monitor toward
the center a little more and press
the START switch again.
Have the examinee look at the
eye fixation lamp and press the
START switch again.
Or, if two bright dots are dis-
played on the monitor, measure-
ment will be performed if the
START switch is pressed timely
during alignment. However,
measurement error will occur if
the positioning is not accurate.
Instruct the examinee to keep
his/her eye open wide, or help
them open the eye widely by lift-
ing up the upper eyelid lightly
with your fingers. Then, press
the START switch again.
Use the roller and trackball to
move the position of the exam-
inee's eye on the monitor toward
the center a little more and press
the START switch again.
Measure the eye manually.
Measure the eye manually. How-
ever, error may occur even in
MANUAL mode if the disease is
serious.
Do not expose the examinee's
eye directly to bright artificial
light or sunlight.
Press START switch again as
required.
