Setup
Setting the DELAY (speaker delay time)
• For the best possible surround sound, you need to
specify the distance from your usual listening position
to each of the connected speakers. This ensures that
the sound from each side and from front and back is
perfectly in phase when it reaches you, providing the
optimum surround sound experience.
• Set the delay so that the sound (distance) from each
of the 6 speakers to the listener's ears is the same to
obtain the optimum surround sound effect.
• If you set the "SPEAKER" setting to "5ch" or "5.1ch" in step 5 on page 57,
you can adjust the speaker delay time using the following procedure.

While a disc is stopped, press SETUP to display the Setup screen.

Use ' or " to select the "

Press ENTER and use ' or " to select "DELAY".

Press ENTER to display the screen on the
right.

Use ' or " to select the speaker for which you want to match the delay.
(Front, Centre or Surround (Rear))

Use \ or | to adjust the speaker distances.
• Set the speaker distance to a value
between 0 m and 9.9 m in 0.1 m
increments.
• You cannot set the distances for the
centre speaker and surround (rear)
speaker to a value greater than the
distance set for the front speakers.

Repeat steps 5 to 6 to set the distance for all the speakers.
