The front panel buttons may be locked (disabled). Usethe remote control to unlock the front panel
controls by selecting the Front Panel Block in the Porentol Controls menu and choosing Unblock.

If you're using the remote control,
press the IV button
first to make sure the remote is in IV mode.

Unplug the TV/DVD for two minutes and then plug it back in. Press the TV button
and try again.
TV turns
off while

Scheduled Off function
may have been activated. Go to page 26 for instructions.
Electronic protection
circuit
may have been activated
because of a power surge. Wait 30 seconds
and then turn the lV on again. If this happens frequently,
the voltage in your house may be
abnormally
high or low.
TV turns
on unexpectedly
Scheduled On or Watch from the GUIDE Plus+ system may have been activated. Go to page 48 or 26
for instructions.
Blank
screen
Make sure the component
connected
to the 1V/DVD is turned on.
Try another channel.
No sound,
picture
okay
Maybe sound is muted.
Press the volume up button
to restore sound.
Maybe speakers are turned off.
Cheek the Speakers control panel in the Audio menu. Go to page 46
for detailed
instructions.
If using S-VIDEO cables to connect a component,
remember to also connect the component's
left
and right Audio Output Jacks to the 1V/DVD's left and right INPUT Jacks.
Can't select certain channel
Channel may be blocked or not approved in the Parental Controls menu.
If using a VCR,make sure the W/VCR button on the VCRis in the correct mode (pressthe TV/VCR
button on your VCR).
Noisy stereo reception
Thestation might be weak. Pressthe AUDIO button on your remote control to display the AUDIO
PROCESSOR, allowing you to change the sound from stereo to mono.
No picture,
no sound
butTV
is on
The channel might be empty - change channels.
If you're watching
your VCR and it's connected
with coaxial cable to the ANTENNA jack, tune the W
to channel 3 or 4 (whichever channel is selected on the 3!4 switch on the back of your VCR). Also
cheek to make sure the
W/VCR
button
on the VCR is in the correct mode (press the TVNCR button
on your VCR).
Sound okay, picture
poor
Check antenna connections.
Make sure all of the cables are firmly connected
to the jacks.
Try adjusting
sharpness function
to improve weak signals. Go to page 46 for more instructions.
