RECEIVING DOCUMENTS
Receiving documents on an extension phone
If you hear a f~ tone when you answer an extension phone, or if the other party
first talks to you and then wants to send a document. press "5". "*" and "*" on a
tone dial phone to begin reception. If you are on a pulse dial phone, set the handset
down (do not hang up), walk over to the fax, pick up the handset, and press the
START key.
Note: Your fax will not accept the signal to begin reception ('5", "*", and "*") if a
document is loaded/n its feeder,
Comments:
. The code used to activate fax reception from a tone dial extension phone ("5'.
"*", and "*") can be changed if desired, See OptIon Setting 4 ("Tel/Fax Remote
Number") in Chapter 6, "Optional Settings".
. If you do not intend to use the code for activating fax reception, you can turn
detection of the code off by resetting Option Setting 5. This will ensure that the
fax never mistakenly attempts to begin reception if it detects a signal which it
perceives to be similar to "S', "*", and "*" while you are talking on an extension
phone.
. In New Zealand, not all standard telephones and answering machines will
respond to incoming ringing when connected to the socket of the equipment
FO-165: After receiving a document, grasp the paper by the edge and pull upward
to tear it off.
FO-365: After receiving a document, your fax will automatically cut each page to a
length slightly longer than the original pages.
