The On Line
light is on but nothing prints.
Your computer may not be properly connected to the printer.
Perform the procedure described in "Connecting the printer to
the computer" in the Getting Ready! booklet.
The interface cable may not be plugged in securely. Check both
ends of the cable between the printer and the computer. Be sure
to secure the connector using the wire retaining clips.
Make sure that if you are using a parallel interface, the cable is a
double-shielded, twisted-pair interface cable no longer than six
feet in length.
If you are using a serial interface, set the parity, baud rate, number
of data bits, and number of stop bits to match the computer.
The Imaging Cartridge may be empty. Replace the cartridge as
described on page 6-30.

Printout problems

The font selected with software commands won't print.
The selected font is not supported by your printer. Be sure you
have installed the correct font. See Appendix D for more
information.
Some or all of the printout is garbled or printed as asterisks
Make sure that both ends of the interface cable are plugged in
securely.
Make sure you use a double-shielded, twisted-pair parallel
interface cable no longer than six feet in length.
