Chapter 8: Maintaining Your Printer
Note: Do not use strong cleaners or
solvents to clean the printer.
Cleaning the Laser Mirror
If there are white streaks running vertically along
the printed image, the laser mirror may be dirty.
The SuperScript 1260 printer is equipped with a
built in laser mirror cleaning brush. Use the
cleaning brush sparingly. Excessive use may
scratch the laser mirror.
1. Press the release button and open the top
cover.
2. Locate the movable, yellow tab that is
immediately behind the toner cartridge.
The yellow tab is part of the laser mirror
cleaning brush.
3. Gently slide the yellow tab all the way to the
right, then all the way to the left.

Caution! Use light pressure when sliding
the brush. Excessive pressure on the tab
may scratch the mirror.
WARNING! Do not touch the fuser unit. It
may be extremely hot. The fuser unit is
clearly labeled and located behind the
toner cartridge area.
4. Close the top cover and resume printing.
If white streaks still appear on your prints, the
toner cartridge may need replacing.
