Configure the processor
1. To view the Processor Settings screen, power on the system, and press F2.
2. Click System Setup Main Menu > System BIOS > Processor Settings.
3. Use the following table to configure the processor:
Option
Logical Processor
Virtualization Technology
Directory Mode
Kernel DMA Protection
Description
Specifies the size of the system memory.
Specifies the type of memory installed in the system.
Specifies the speed of the system memory.
Specifies the voltage of the system memory.
Specifies the size video memory.
Specifies whether the system memory tests are run during system boot. The two
options available are Enabled and Disabled (default).
Specifies the memory operating mode. The option is available and is set to Optimizer
Mode, by default. Options such as Fault Resilient Mode and NUMA Fault Resilient Mode
are available for support when the Advanced RAS capability processor is installed on the
system.
Specifies the current state of the memory operating mode.
Enables or disables the Node interleaving option. Specifies if the Non-Uniform Memory
Architecture (NUMA) is supported. If this field is set to Enabled, memory interleaving
is supported if a symmetric memory configuration is installed. If the field is set to
Disabled (default), the system supports NUMA (asymmetric) memory configurations.
When option is set to Fast and memory configuration is not changed, the system
uses previously saved memory training parameters to train the memory subsystems
and system boot time is also reduced. If memory configuration is changed, the system
automatically enables Retrain at Next boot to force one-time full memory training
steps, and then go back to Fast afterward.
When option is set to Retrain at Next boot, the system performs the
force one-time full memory training steps at next power on and boot time is slowed on
next boot.
When option is set to Enable, the system performs the force full
memory training steps on every power on and boot time is slowed on every boot.
Enables (default) or disables DIMMs slots on the system.
Enables or disables (default) correctable error logging.
Enables (default) or disables Post Package Repair (PPR) on uncorrectable memory
error.
Description
Each processor core supports up to two logical processors. If this option is set to
Enabled (default), the BIOS displays all the logical processors. If this option is set
to Disabled, the BIOS displays only one logical processor per core.
Enables (default) or disables the virtualization technology for the processor.
Enables (default) or disables the directory mode.
Disabled by default. It is enabled for Secure Launch (Firmware Protection)
support on Windows 2022.
