FRONT COMPARTMENT

TV/CATV select button
The TV or CATV channel range is displayed below the
channel number. (Use the TV/CATV button to select the
proper frequency range.)
TV
In this position the VCR will tune the full range
of VHF and UHF broadcast frequencies.
CATV VHF, midband and superband cable frequencies.
Contact your local cable company to verify if they
use the Standard (Std), HRC or I RC cable frequen-
cies.
NOTE: This applies to non-scrambled cable channels.

SKIP/PRESET button
This button is used for Channel Presetting. When this but-
ton is pressed, the display will change to show current time
and channel position. Refer to page 19.

AUTO PRESET button (AUTO PRE,)
This will set the VCR to scan the full available channel
range and memorize all the available channels.

ADD/ERASE button
This button is used to make any necessary changes in the
channels memorized by the AUTO PRESET function.

STILl/PAUSE Adjustment
These controls are adjusted if a still picture (stop action)
tends to roll. The EP side control is used during EP mode
and the SP side is used during SP mode.
Use a screwdriver to adjust these controls.

SLOW (-)/(+) buttons
Press these buttons to activate slow motion playback.

TIME ADJUST button
This button is used for Time Setting.

REC MODE select button (SP/LP/EP)
Set this switch for the tape speed required depending on
the length of the program to be recorded. The tape speed to
be recorded is shown in the display. It is only necessary to
select a tape speed when recording. During playback the
speed is automatically selected.

TIMER REC button
This button is used for unattended recording after the timer
has been programmed. When this button is on, the timer re-
cording
indicator"~"lights
in the display. When this indi-
cator is ON, the unit is under the control of the timer and
cannot be operated manually.
@COUNTER MEMORY button
When the memory feature is on, the VCR will stop auto-
matically from either FAST FORWARD or REWIND when
the tape counter reaches "0000".

RESET button
Presetting this button in normal operation will reset the
tape cou nter to "0000".
Pressing this button during timer programming clears all the
timer information for the program being displayed.

TIMER MODE button
Pushing this button cycles the information appearing on the
display from:
PRESENT TIME to TIMER PROGRAMMING to PRE-
SENT TIME.

SHIFT (-)/(+) buttons
These buttons are used for Time Setting and Timer Pro-
gramming.
